Building digital public infrastructure for civil registration and vital statistics.

Problem
The original core was tightly coupled to specific event and action types. Events V2 moved the core toward an event-agnostic architecture, making the foundation easier to extend.
My role
Contributed to Events V2 implementation across core workflows, actions, form fields, and event configuration.

We Will Not Forget

An accountability dashboard designed to keep rape cases visible and pressure accountability into the system.

My role
I designed the product through an AI-driven development workflow: writing and refining specifications, reviewing implementation plans, and directing and reviewing the generated implementation.

About Me

I got into software engineering by solving problems.

Competitive programming was where I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed taking problems apart, looking at them from different angles, and finding a way through. That naturally led me toward software engineering.

Today, I work on complex production systems where the interesting problems aren't always about writing code. They're about understanding the system, making good trade-offs, debugging unexpected behavior, and improving the foundations that make a codebase easier to evolve.

I enjoy planning before implementation, thinking through edge cases, reading documentation, and debugging. When something breaks, I like reconstructing the relevant flow, filling the gaps by going through the code, and finding the root cause.

I'm particularly interested in complex systems, infrastructure, and scale.

What I like working on

Problem solving

I enjoy problems where the obvious solution isn't necessarily the right one.

System thinking

I like understanding how components, state, workflows, and constraints interact.

Debugging

I reconstruct the expected flow, find the gap, and track down the root cause.

Engineering judgment

I try to solve the actual problem rather than the problem I initially assume exists.

TypeScript · React · Node.js · tRPC · PostgreSQL · Docker · Kubernetes

How I think

Decompose

Large problems become manageable when they're broken into pieces small enough to reason about.

Question assumptions

I try to distinguish what the system requires from what I merely assume it requires.

Follow the root cause

When debugging, I reconstruct the flow, find where reality diverges from expectation, and work backward from there.

Achievements

Competitive programming was where I discovered that I enjoy difficult problems. It eventually led me into software engineering.
